Vizcaya Museum & Gardens is a former estate and now museum that used to belong to a business man in the earlier 20th century. Vizcaya is in the Coconut Grove area of Miami and it sits right alongside the Biscayne Bay.
The museum has various rooms with information and a magnificent garden, as well as a gorgeous view of the Biscayne Bay.
There is an admission fee to get into the museum, but once inside, you can take a self guided tour throughout the mansion and gardens and take in all of the beauty that surrounds Vizcaya.
Exploring the mansion was relatively simple. In each room, there is some type of historical display and readings to follow along to. Once I got outside, it was like I entered another place. It was kind of confusing, I’m not gonna lie. Figuring out the garden was like walking through a maze, but along the way, there is something unique to see such as fountains, flower displays, vintage stairs that overlook different parts of the garden, a fort that overlooks the Biscayne Bay, and the many sides of the mansion.
